Before you start cutting your fresh fruits and veggies, follow these tips for easy and safe process.
Wash all fruits and veggies.
Fruits and veggies can be covered in dirt, chemicals and bacteria. Make sure you wash and dry every fruit and veggie that you are about to cut.
Use a cutting board.
Make sure to use a flat, non-slip surface to safely cut your produce. This will also keep your knives sharp!
Put a damp paper towel under your cutting board.
If your cutting board is slipping on the table, dampen a paper towel and place it under the board. This will ensure that you can safely cut without slipping.
Use properly sharpened knife
Choose a sharp knife and slice in single movements from front to back for precise and safe cuts.
Following are hacks for some of time consuming vegetables and fruits
1. Onion :
Remove the head and the bottom of the onion and halve it. Then, remove the peel and slice it vertically and hold the slices together. Now, cut it horizontally and turn it around. Chop it from top to bottom and there you get nicely chopped onions in no time.
2. Pomegranate :
First, you need to halve it. Then, fill a bowl with water and slowly push the edges to open up the fruit. Hit it with a big spoon to separate the seeds from the peel. Repeat the process until you get all the seeds out of the fruit body and then drain the water and enjoy.
3. Pineapple :
Cut off the crown and base of the pineapple. Now cut the peel and trim the eyes. Cut it into four equal pieces and the chop it into small chunks of any size you like.
4. Green chillies :
Simply use scissors to cut the green chillies so that it will save you from burning sensation.
Start by cutting the cauliflower into half and then cut the stem from the middle. The vegetable will fall apart into large florets without wasting too much of time.
